He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; -Psalm 113:7 This is an intresting quote if you've ever heard the song, "You Make Beautiful Things" This is a song about how God can raise us up out of the dust. But right now I would like to show you a video about God doing wonderful things in Haiti. Short story, My mom has gone to Haiti 10x, my dad leads trips. I have gone 2x. Now we don't build things. We go play on orphans. This is a place that we visit and at least spend over $20 on every time we go there, this is a place that prevents children becoming orphans.
"You make me new, you are making me new." You probably heard this if you listened to the whole thing. (Which you should people) But this amazing woman named Shelly Clay who I have met by the way, created this as a way to show God's love. Now, they have taken up both sides of the street which they started on in Haiti. She has employed over 200 people. People in her work space have had documentaries and movies made out for them. They are truly coming back from the dust.
I heard something the other day, about your identity in Christ. Someone once said that when you stand before God, everything in your identity that doesn't reflect Christ will burn to dust in a instant. Now if that happened, how big would you be. I would be pretty medium. But I know someone who would be BIG with the Love of Christ. Let's refer to her as Momma J. Momma J has helped me out since I started in Youth group over 4 years ago. She was the one who helped me when I needed it and when she moved away, I was the one who she brought things for me. She has encouraged me in my writing and has believed in me since the beginning. So here's my question to you. Who is the Momma J in your life? If everything that didn't reflect Christ burn to ashes, how big would you be? How could you make yourself bigger? Remember, being big in this situation is good. Really good.
