Magic

"You know what the issue is with this world? Everyone wants a magical situation to there problem, but no one wants to believe in magic." -The Mad Hatter, Once Upon A Time.
This is so true I was shocked when I heard this. People, everyone wants a situation to there problems. situations that sound so crazy that they have to be magic.
NEWS FLASH: Our God is the God of miracles. Some people can view miracles as magic. But not everyone wants to go to God as our miracle provider. Check out this verse.

Acts 8:9-11 ESV /

But there was a man named Simon, who had previously practiced magic in the city and amazed the people of Samaria, saying that he himself was somebody great. They all paid attention to him, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the power of God that is called Great.” And they paid attention to him because for a long time he had amazed them with his magic.'

Do you see what happened? People who didn't want to believe in God went to Simon for expertise about what to do to get a magical situation. They followed him, listened to him and no one else. As they went to see his acts of wonder, he slowly got them to trust him more and more. They were his followers. But here's the thing with followers. With one button they can unfollow you.

Oh ya and I didn't show you the rest of the verse. Here it is.

Acts 8:12
12 But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13 Simon himself believed and was baptized. And he followed Philip everywhere, astonished by the great signs and miracles he saw.

Then sudden this new dude shows up. What is he doing here! Suddenly he was doing better things then Simon, everyone went to him instead of Simon. This really reminds me of a sort animation film. Or more really this reminds me of a short film that shows not how to do this.
One Man Band. Watch it please if you don't already understand what I'm getting at here. This is a struggle between two musicians wanting a little coin from a girl. Let's think of it this way. One of the dudes, you get to pick, is someone trying to convert someone to Christianity. The other, Atheist. Now the little girl is all open to hearing what both have to say,
but when they start to argue....
Well that's when she makes her own music. Her own religion of sorts. So what I'm getting at here, is that Phillip did the right thing. He proclaimed in his own way. He didn't try to compete with Simon. And do you see what happens then? Simon, the man of magic or as they would call it back then, Witchcraft, CONVERTED TO WHAT PHILLIP HAD TO SAY ABOUT GOD!!!!!
Back to Once Upon a Time now, this was there Magic of sorts. And they wanted to see what they could do to get the miracle they wanted. The little gold coin.
Now let's take a look at the film. Constantly they're trying to outdo one another, enough to were the person gets fed up and desires to make her own way of doing things.
So be a smart christian
Are you being like Phillip?
Or like two talented, but competitive musicians?
