What does this mean? We all know what deep means. But firmly means having a solid, almost unyielding surface or structure. That's what us as Christians need to be. An unyielding surface.
If you're like me, you're a fangirl. And a big one. In the movie Captain America Civil War, a remarkable woman said these words. "Compromise when you can. Where you can't, don't. Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move. It is your duty, to plant yourself like a tree, look them in they eye and say, " No... ... you move."
Why can't we be like this as Christians? Notice how she said "Plant yourself like a tree" Do you know how hard it is to get a tree out of the ground? Roots growing deeper every day and even a tree that has only been in the ground a year, it's hard to get it up.
Now I would like to show you something. Well I really mean tell you something. I was watching Tree Masters the other day. It's a great show you get to watch people take something beautiful and make it even more beautiful. It's clean and the scariest thing ever in the entire show is the goat in the treehouse. But as one customer wanted something in the ground, they found a root to one of the trees.
Quickly they said that the root can not be cut through, because they couldn't wrap there hands around it and have there fingers touch, it supplies too much for the tree. They had to improvise.
But seriously, let's think about this really quick. Just by looking at it, they said "We can't do that. It will harm the tree."
So let's take a second to think here people. Lets go back to Ephesians 3:17. "Be rooted" We as Christians need to be rooted so seriously to God, that no one can fit there hands around it. For we are too supportive for the tree. Shoot we need to be such a big root it takes 7 hands to be fully wrapped around us.
So that is it. Sounds simple right? Be so crazy for God no one can cut you down. But it isn't that simple. I don't even think I'm that big of a root. I'm working on it. But I have to constantly work on it. Not just a simple "Oh look I read my daily bible verse. God has saved me another day oh yay I'm done. OH look I just got tagged in a Facebook post!" We can't do that.
Really we can't. Being rooted is about everyday, all day, being a support to God. If it's even just praying, all day everyday, even if it's just holding the door open. Or maybe you're really really really extrovert and you just ask someone if they know about God.
But if every Christian did kind acts all day, then holy crap people who weren't Christians would go, I want to be like them.
So are you getting my message here guys? Do you're part for God's world. Can you do that. I know you can. That's the amazing thing about God. If you're so introverted you won't come out of the house, he can have a mission for you. If you don't speak a certain language and your going on a misson trip where they speak that language, you don't need to speak. You just need to be there. People, God is like etsy for missons. He can customize a misson just for you, and have it be just as important as someone risking there life in China smuggling bibles.
So I belive in your misson.
Do you?
