Homeless

Let me start this off with no, I am not going to be like "Oh we were homeless before we met Jesus now we have a home." No, that is for preschoolers. But this is one of my favorite quotes. Here it is Holy crap. I read this in a book that I got a goodwill and after I read this I just sat there, contemplating life. Because like guys, Jesus was homeless too. Do I have to repeat that? JESUS WAS HOMELESS TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! So what are you doing for the homeless?  For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, Matthew 25:35. So how are you helping the homeless. I am going to give you an example from my own life. I go to Haiti on mission trips. I love it. Now let me explain something. No, we do not build anything, but we build relationships with orphans. We hang out with orphans, and just play with them. Nothing else. If someone needs a house built, hire a person who has no job. Not an ...

Nephilim

Ok first let me say, this morning I was like "I do not want to write a blog post today. I just don't it's monday..." Then I realized. It's not monday. So here we are and this is during a class I've done all my work in. Let me start off with the  Nephilim. I was in Bible class for today and saw this in Genesis 6 and just about passed out from excitment. This is a Shadowhunter term. Now if you've not read the Shadowhunter series, you should. It's wonderful and excilent and also, you can refrence the bible in it. Like for example, the fact that Clary put on Simon the Mark of Cain to protect him from enemies. The fact that people would die if they tried to harm him. Or for example like when they made the Angel rise at the lake and he refrenced God too many times to count.  So I was excited when this showed up in my bible. But then I looked at what it meant.  Nephilim means giants. So what does this mean. In the shadowhunter books it meant a special pers...

Fleas and Lice

So right now where I live Lice is going crazy. My mom was so upset and saying like why would God make such a creature that nothing good can come from. Well I was reminded the other day how these things can have something good come from them. I heard a story the other day how these two people, Jews back in World War II got into a concentration camp. They got to there bunks and saw it was infested with fleas and lice. Soon they began to have bible studies and the guards never bothered them. Soon they figured out why. The fleas were driving the guards from coming in. They began to worship God regularly. How wonderful. How something so little and so micro can be something so big in God's eyes. I know this is short so here's my question to all you. What has been a curse at first, cut a blessing in your life. And what is your curse right now but will be a blessing later? Sorry guys this is so short it's Friday and i want to go to sleep.

Sea Glass

Back in 7th grade I got a poem published called Sea Glass. Here it is Sea Glass I am sea glass, Beautiful and pure. I once had sharp edges, Now I am smooth. People tend to go to the bigger piece, Rather than tiny me. I travel to place after place. Sometimes I get buried. Not seen for days. If you dig, then you can find me. I am sea glass. Easily broken, But smooth. And if you look closely, you can see right through me. I don't know why I wrote this, but I still love it even to this day. The simplicity of it is so important to me. I remember feeling so alone when I wrote this, I had negleted God for a long time. Soon though I started to cmoe back to him. And I am so glad I did Look at this photo This shows a collection of sea glass. Sure there are big pieces in there, but there are also small pieces. There's colored, there's not colored. How amazing that our God can take us and collect us. He doesn't care how warn down we are, he...

Highlights

Highlights, Low lights, these are things with hair. Now I'm going to be straight with you. Whenever I think highlights I think... Alexander Hamilton, had an affair and he wrote it down right there  HIGHLIGHTS I'm sorry that I have a geek brain but I couldn't help but think of Daniel. Daniel commented adultery and murder. Yet he is one of the most well known Godly people out there. Can you imagine what Satan was thinking as Daniel started to do these things? Satan: "Oh my hot... Is this actually happening.... I.. I... I've tried for so long and it's happening.... YESSSSSSSSSSSSS" Sorry that's just how my brain pictured it. So I feel like this spreaded quickly throughout the cities. Can you imagine? "Hey Daniel had an affair." someone in the background is saying "HIGHLIGHTS" So but then I came across this today. What are you doing, you devastated one? Why dress yourself in scarlet and put on jewels of gold? Why highlight you...

Ashes

He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; -Psalm 113:7 This is an intresting quote if you've ever heard the song, "You Make Beautiful Things" This is a song about how God can raise us up out of the dust. But right now I would like to show you a video about God doing wonderful things in Haiti. Short story, My mom has gone to Haiti 10x, my dad leads trips. I have gone 2x. Now we don't build things. We go play on orphans. This is a place that we visit and at least spend over $20 on every time we go there, this is a place that prevents children becoming orphans.  "You make me new, you are making me new." You probably heard this if you listened to the whole thing. (Which you should people) But this amazing woman named Shelly Clay who I have met by the way, created this as a way to show God's love. Now, they have taken up both sides of the street which they started on in Haiti. She has employed over 200 people. People i...

Lace

How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes behind your veil are doves. Your hair is like a flock of goats descending from the hills of Gilead. Song Of Solomon 4:1  What? Why would I put something down like this when i need to find something with Lace? Because I then found this quote. It is difficult to see why lace should be so expensive; it is mostly holes. Mary Wilson Little This is a good thought. Why is it so costly? When you can see through it and it's holes. I'll give you the answer. Because it takes FOREVER to do by hand. First you have to have the right amount of silk, or thread. Then you have to have A LOT of wooden bobbins with strings attached . Then you weave. It's such an art. It takes patience and a memory like a elephant and you get something you wouldn't believe .  But you get something so beautiful. Then don't forget the process it takes. It's thin, may start out little but ends up beautiful!  Jesus took each one...

Axe

“An axe cuts through a forest not because of its size, but its endurance.”  ―  Matshona Dhliwayo With axes they cut things down. Simple as that. But lets say that something happens. I'll give the example. The two characters in this idea story are Plum and Mango. (I like fruit ok!) Plum: "Mango, you relaize that because I was taking care of you when I knew what was going on, I got in trouble too! I didn't do anything wrong! I was just trying to help you but got introuble too." Mango: "Oh my gosh.... I'm so sorry I didn't mean for any of this to happen." Plum: " It's ok, you didn't wield the axe." You didn't wield the axe. That's a weird sentence. But lets think about this. Plum got in trouble as Mango did, for trying to help her to do the right thing. But she said the sentence, you didn't wield the axe. Notice, she didn't blame herself for something that she was trying to do right. She just instead said, ...

Scars

“Scars are just another kind of memory.”  ―  M.L. Stedman ,  The Light Between Oceans Now this post is all about scars. Why would I do something like this you might ask. But our scars, external and internal are like memories. They can be memories of something bad. Or even something good. How can they be good you ask? Just keep reading to find out. Scars as the dictonary tells it  a mark left on the skin or within body tissue where a wound, burn, or sore has not healed completely and fibrous connective tissue has developed.  In other words a scar is when something happens and it leaves a reminder on your body. For all and everyone to see. Why would we have such a thing that God created? I would like to explain to you some of my scars on my hands. On my right hand, my index and middle finger have a small scar on both of them from burns. (Most likely a hot glue gun knowing me) Then on the side of my ring finger still right hand, I have a scar form a wasp stin...

Magic

"You know what the issue is with this world? Everyone wants a magical situation to there problem, but no one wants to believe in magic." -The Mad Hatter, Once Upon A Time. This is so true I was shocked when I heard this. People, everyone wants a situation to there problems. situations that sound so crazy that they have to be magic. NEWS FLASH: Our God is the God of miracles. Some people can view miracles as magic. But not everyone wants to go to God as our miracle provider. Check out this verse. Acts 8:9- 11   ESV /  But there was a man named Simon, who had previously practiced magic in the city and amazed the people of Samaria, saying that he himself was somebody great. They all paid attention to him, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the power of God that is called Great.” And they paid attention to him because for a long time he had amazed them with his magic.' Do you see what happened? People who didn't want to believe in God went to S...

Rooted

We all know the verse. "Be rooted and established in love" Ephesians 3:17 One of everyone's favorite bible verse but what does it really mean to be rooted in God? Google results for this word rooted is... 2. establish deeply and firmly. synonyms: embedded, fixed , established , entrenched , ingrained What does this mean? We all know what deep means. But firmly means having a solid, almost unyielding surface or structure. That's what us as Christians need to be. An unyielding surface. If you're like me, you're a fangirl. And a big one. In the movie Captain America Civil War, a remarkable woman said these words. "Compromise when you can. Where you can't, don't. Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move. It is your duty, to plant yourself like a tree, look them in they eye and say, " No... ... you move." Why can't we be like this as Ch...
